Keep it simple and concise.

Employers screen a good deal of profiles daily and only spend very little time on each one. Your profile should highlight what you have to offer immediately. The aim is to draw attention and showcase your talent right away.

Be relevant.

Streamline the 'Experience' section to only include relevant working experience. More importantly, be sure to list down quantifiable achievements and your contribution to the company instead of merely general description of your job scope. This will help you stand out from other candidates.

Fresh graduates can be outstanding too.

If you are a fresh graduate, do include any experience that may add value to your profile, be it a school project where you held an important role, a part time stint, a freelance job, an internship, even your involvement in sports or extracurricular activities. Include your key learning and achievements from these experiences to illustrate qualities such as leadership, determination, credibility, competency, integrity, self-confidence, etc.

Include Keywords.

Spend time identifying the right keywords, adding the correct skills and abilities, and crafting those keywords into your resume carefully. A good place to start is to study current job advertisements to find out the skillsets that employers are looking for.

Be Error Free.

Spelling and grammar mistakes in your resume show that you are not detail oriented and do not take your job application seriously. Have a trusted friend or teacher vet through your resume.
